Borodino's Rescue 1 is a 2008 Ford F450 Custom-built 4x4 with a V8 diesel engine. This vehicle has a built-in light tower and generator and contains EMS/AED equipment, a portable AMKUS Combi-Tool, SCBA packs, water rescue equipment, and forestry gear. This vehicle is a general rescue truck that is capable of reaching many remote areas in our fire district. including camp sites, water-front properties, and hiking trails.
Rescue Pumper 1 is a 2009 Spartan custom-built truck that carries 1,000 gallons of water and 30 gallons of foam. It's Compressed Air Foam System (CAFs) capable, has an enclosed-cab mounted pump panel, and is equipped with front mounted AMKUS rescue tools. RP-1 contains EMS/AED equipment, a built-in light tower, generator, and 1,000 feet of large 5" diameter hose. This member of the fleet is ideal for motor vehicle accidents, water rescues, and structure fires.
Tanker 1 is a 2019 Pierce Kenworth Chassis with 2,500 gallons of water and a 1,500 gpm pump with remote "side-dumps." This vehicle is equipped with a portable 2,500 gal pond, ladders, fire hose cross-lays, and 500 feet of large 5" diameter hose. It's ideal is for hauling large amount of water necessary for structure and barn fires and used for mutual aid.
Borodino's Engine 3 is a 2018 Pierce F550 4x4 Mini-Pumper with a Ford V8 diesel engine. This member of our fleet has a mid-mounted 1,250 gpm water pump with foam and is capable of carrying water into campgrounds, hiking trails, and wooded areas on unpaved and narrow rural roads.
Borodino 's Fire Rescue and Rescue Pumper trucks contain AMKUS "Jaws of Life" equipment for rapid and efficient emergency extrication.
Self Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) air tanks are filled at the fire station immediately following use to ensure they are ready for the next call.
Borodino Fire Department serves Otisco and Skaneateles Lakes. Specially trained water rescue personnel are equipped to handle emergencies year round.
Borodino has the ability to use light-weight, fire resistant, forestry gear and jumpsuits within our district's densely wooded areas, fields, and expansive farm lands.
